Tach Amplifier...

The TachMatch Amplifier Module can be used to step up the drive voltage from the TachMatch to the tachometer. To function properly, some tachometers that were originally driven directly from the coil terminal require higher voltages than the 12V signal from the TachMatch. This module installs between the tachometer and the TachMatch to provide additional amplification.

The amplifier is hooked up like this:

Wiring

The Amplifier is approximately 2.625" x 2" x 0.8", and has wiring approximately 12" long. The Module can be mounted with two screws (not included) that are spaced 2.275" apart, or it can be wire-tied to some of the existing wiring in the vehicle. It should be mounted in a dry location since it is not water-proofed.

Before connecting the Amplifier, try the TachMatch directly. If your tachometer does not work properly, remove your wired plug from the TachMatch, plug it into the Amplifier, then plug the Amplifier into the TachMatch. This will provide a stronger signal to your tachometer.
